What is this year all about?
Apex: Come. Learn. Live.
…"Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord,
to the house of the God of Jacob,
that he may teach us his ways
and that we may walk in his paths."…
"Come" is not simply come to Calvary's camp, but come to the mountain of the Lord. Come spend an intentional week with God. Come and draw near to the Lord, and let Him work on you. Come taste and see that the Lord is good.
"Learn" embodies everything we want to happen at the week of camp, but it does not mean simply amassing knowledge or attending a series of seminars. First and foremost, it is experiential. Like our verse from Isaiah says, the reason we come to the mountain of the Lord is He can teach us His ways.
"Live" means that even though we view camp as a momentous time on the mountain with the Lord, we will go back into the world. The reason we come to the mountain is to know God more fully through His teaching, but the reason that we learn is so "we may walk in His paths". We desire for our students to come away from their camp experience with a passion for walking by the Spirit in all things, free from the law of sin and death but fully aware of the law of the Spirit of life that has set us free in Christ.
Who is it for?
Middle school and high school students (students that have just completed their 7th grade year through students that have just completed their 12th grade year). Camp will be a one week experience this year, but most of the scheduled activities will be divided into middle school and high school events.
